Milwaukee Bucks wing Pat Connaughton has officially picked up his player option for the 2025-26 season, valued at $9.4 million, according to multiple reports on Saturday. Connaughton, 32, had until Tuesday to exercise this option as part of a three-year, $28.5 million extension he signed in 2022.
Last season, Connaughton averaged 5.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists over 41 games, with one start. His average of 14.7 minutes per game was the lowest in his seven seasons with Milwaukee, and his 3-point shooting percentage of 32.1 was the lowest since his rookie season in 2015-16.
Originally selected by the Brooklyn Nets in the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft, Connaughton was traded to Portland on draft day. During his three seasons with the Trail Blazers, he averaged 3.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, and played 12.6 minutes per game across 155 games.
Connaughton joined the Bucks as a free agent in August 2018 and played a key role in helping Milwaukee secure the NBA championship in the 2020-21 season. Over his career, he has averaged 6.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 19.2 minutes in 595 games, including 72 starts.
