Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman underscored the vital contributions of Filipino women in shaping progress under the vision of a “Bagong Pilipinas” (New Philippines), calling for genuine equality and continuous empowerment.

In her message commemorating International Women’s Day and National Women’s Month, Pangandaman honored the resilience and strength of Filipinas, recognizing their sacrifices, dreams, and determination to break barriers.

“Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit of every Filipina—the mothers who selflessly give, the daughters who dream fearlessly, and all those who continue to defy the odds,” she said.

She emphasized that achieving an inclusive and progressive society requires placing women at the forefront to ensure a future where no one is left behind.

Across homes, workplaces, and communities, Pangandaman described women as “pillars of strength, love, and hope.” She stressed that when women are empowered across all sectors, families flourish, communities thrive, and the nation moves forward stronger and more united.

“Time and again, we have overcome challenges, shattered barriers, and proven that we are unstoppable,” she said.

This year’s National Women’s Month theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas” (Women in All Sectors, A Brighter Future in the New Philippines), embodies hope and optimism for a future where women’s lives are truly uplifted.

Pangandaman reaffirmed the Marcos administration’s commitment to turning gender equality efforts into meaningful and tangible progress for women nationwide.
