Police arrested four alleged members of the so-called Termite or Acetylene gang in separate operations in Pampanga, including a fugitive ranked fifth on Baguio City’s provincial most wanted list.
The operation started on July 19 in Porac, where authorities served a warrant against a 26-year-old man facing a frustrated murder charge.
Officers later approached another man seen behaving suspiciously near the arrest site and allegedly recovered a firearm and an explosive device from him.
Information obtained during the operation led police to launch a hot pursuit in Mabalacat City, where two other suspects were captured later that day.
Investigators linked the group to a July 16 robbery at a business establishment in Bamban, Tarlac, where a vehicle recovered by police was allegedly used as the getaway car.
Authorities also seized firearms, ammunition, explosive devices, suspected dried marijuana, communication gadgets and other items believed to have been used in criminal activities.
Police were checking the suspects’ possible involvement in recent robberies targeting commercial establishments in Tuguegarao City and the Isabela towns of Cabatuan and San Mateo.
