A lone bettor from Pampanga has secured the P37 million jackpot in the Megalotto 6/45 draw held Wednesday night, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced Thursday.
The winning ticket, which featured the combination 17-15-32-45-40-12, was purchased at a lottery outlet in SM Clark, Angeles City. The total jackpot prize amounted to exactly P37,032,365.47.
Under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law, the windfall is subject to a 20-percent tax because the amount exceeds P10,000.
The winner has one year from the date of the draw to claim the prize at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City by presenting the winning ticket and two valid government identification cards.
The draw also produced several secondary winners. Thirteen bettors will receive P32,000 each for matching five numbers, while 985 players won P1,000 each for matching four numbers. Another 20,288 individuals won P30 each for matching three digits.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles encouraged the public to continue participating in the state-run lottery, emphasizing that proceeds are used to fund medical assistance and various social service programs nationwide.
The Megalotto 6/45 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
