A 54-year-old Palestinian man was killed Tuesday during an Israeli military raid in Al-Bireh, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
The ministry identified the man as Ziad Mohammed Jaber and said he was fatally shot in the Umm al-Sharayet neighborhood.
Residents said Israeli special forces entered Jaber’s home and opened fire during the operation.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society had earlier reported treating a man with critical gunshot wounds to the abdomen and thigh.
Israeli forces have continued carrying out raids across the occupied West Bank, including in cities, towns and refugee camps, as tensions remain high.
The operations often involve arrests, home searches and armed confrontations, while Palestinian officials and rights groups have raised concerns over the growing number of casualties.
The latest incident adds to the continuing violence in the West Bank since the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023.
