President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has resumed his regular schedule, Malacañang said Monday, dismissing reports that he will undergo surgery for diverticulitis.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed that the president recently attended an Economy and Development Council meeting, noting that his routine is “back to normal.”
Marcos had been out of public view since his hospitalization last Wednesday due to diverticulitis, an inflammation of small pouches in the colon.
During his absence, Executive Secretary Ralph Recto and House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos represented him at official engagements in Malacañang and Ilocos Norte.
In a video posted Thursday, the president said he was feeling well, emphasizing that his condition was not life-threatening.
He reassured the public with a touch of humor: “Don’t get too excited just yet because it’s not a life-threatening condition.”
