Palace finalizes crisis committee for food, fuel supply

Malacañang said preparations are underway for the creation of a crisis committee aimed at securing the country’s supply of food and petroleum products amid tensions in the Middle East.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro disclosed the development during a media briefing at Villamor Airbase in Pasay City on Monday.

She said the government is in the process of finalizing the structure of the proposed body.

The planned committee is expected to focus on ensuring the steady availability of essential goods, particularly fuel and food, as global uncertainties continue.

Castro noted that the initiative comes as authorities monitor the possible impact of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East on domestic supply chains.

She did not provide further details on the composition or specific functions of the committee.

Officials have yet to announce when the body will be formally established.

The Palace said more information will be released once the plans are finalized.
