MANILA – Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) said Friday it will launch direct services to Mumbai and Delhi in December, subject to the Indian government’s approval.
“Opening services to Delhi and Mumbai strengthens PAL’s network in one of Asia’s most dynamic economies. These routes will create new opportunities for Filipinos to explore India while supporting the growing movement of travelers, businesses, and goods between our two countries,” PAL President Richard Nuttall said in a statement.
Having direct air links to two of India’s leading cultural and commercial centers will provide Filipino travelers with more convenient access for business, leisure, and cultural exploration, the Tan-led carrier said.
PAL will utilize its 168-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft for both routes.
Flights from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to Delhi will be every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Delhi to Manila flights will operate every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
From the NAIA, services to Mumbai will be every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Mumbai to Manila flights will be scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Meanwhile, PAL said the new flights will also expand cargo capacity between the Philippines and India, allowing shipments to connect efficiently with the airline’s broader international cargo network.
