Pakistan’s military said Thursday that security forces killed 12 suspected militants in two separate operations in southwestern Balochistan province.

The first operation took place Wednesday in Washuk district, where six militants were killed, according to the military’s media wing.

Another six were killed Thursday during an intelligence-based operation in Mastung district.

The military identified the slain men as members of the Balochistan Liberation Army, a separatist group that has carried out attacks against security forces in the province.

Pakistan designates the group as a terrorist organization, along with the United States, China and several other countries.

The military said security operations would continue against armed groups it described as receiving foreign support.

Islamabad has repeatedly accused India and Afghanistan of backing militants operating inside Pakistan.

New Delhi and Kabul have both denied the allegations.
