SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — In a major step toward strengthening public healthcare, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and the Provincial Government of Pampanga inaugurated the new Pampanga Provincial Dialysis Center I on Friday, April 11.

The facility—established through a public-private partnership—is equipped with 40 dialysis machines and a CT scan unit funded by PAGCOR’s donation of over Php90 million. It aims to provide free and accessible dialysis treatment to thousands of Kapampangans, particularly those who cannot afford regular sessions or travel to distant medical centers.

PAGCOR chairman Alejandro H. Tengco underscored the facility’s importance not only in addressing the physical needs of patients but also in showing the government’s compassion for those battling chronic illness.

“Dialysis treatment is not only financially burdensome—it’s physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. That’s why having this kind of facility here in the province is invaluable,” said Tengco. “These medical tools represent our government’s commitment to the well-being of its people.”

Tengco also praised the dedication of the healthcare workers who will operate the center, calling them “the true heroes of our nation.”

“This is what real nation-building looks like—initiatives that directly impact lives and uplift communities,” he added, highlighting how the project aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision for expanded healthcare services, especially in underserved regions.

Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda extended his heartfelt thanks to PAGCOR and other government partners, assuring the public that the facility would remain cost-free for the province’s most vulnerable residents.

“Walang ilalabas na kahit isang kusing ang mga mahihirap nating kababayan na magpapagamot dito,” said Pineda. “We are deeply grateful to all agencies that helped make this a reality.”

Aside from dialysis treatments, the stand-alone center also provides holistic support such as nutritional counseling, social work services, and patient education—ensuring comprehensive care for both patients and their families.
