In a proactive move to support potential government reorganization, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco, along with the entire PAGCOR Board of Directors, has submitted his courtesy resignation.

The resignations were tendered last week—days ahead of Malacañang’s official call for all officials of government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) to do the same.

“We serve at the pleasure of the President,” Tengco stated. “We respect the authority of the Chief Executive and are prepared to accept whatever decision he makes.”

Joining Tengco in the voluntary move were PAGCOR President and COO Wilma Eisma, and Directors Jose Maria Ortega, Francis Democrito Concordia, and Gilbert Cesar Remulla.

The gesture underscores the PAGCOR board’s willingness to give President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. full discretion to implement changes he sees fit within the ranks of key government agencies.
