The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has turned over 11 new Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) to various local government units and institutions on Thursday, November 20, strengthening healthcare access especially in far-flung communities with limited hospital facilities.
Among the new beneficiaries are the municipalities of Pandi (Bulacan), Barbaza (Antique), Ipil (Zamboanga Sibugay), Lubao (Pampanga), Vintar and Piddig (Ilocos Norte), Claveria (Misamis Oriental), San Carlos City (Pangasinan), and Maasin City (Southern Leyte). San Lorenzo Ruiz General Hospital in Malabon City and Sorsogon State University in Sorsogon City also received one unit each.
PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco said the agency remains committed to helping strengthen local healthcare systems by supplying reliable emergency and patient support vehicles.
“We donate these PTVs because we want to help build healthier and more resilient communities,” Tengco said. “Each vehicle represents a lifeline that can bring patients to safety and ensure timely medical attention. We hope our beneficiaries will take care of these units and use them to serve those who need them most.”

Each Patient Transport Vehicle is equipped with a GPS navigation system, ambulance stretcher, medical oxygen, wheelchair, and a complete first aid kit to ensure safe and efficient patient transport during emergencies.
San Lorenzo Ruiz General Hospital Medical Center Chief Dr. Marilou T. Nery expressed deep gratitude, emphasizing that the ambulance will be crucial not only for emergency transport but also for expanding their public health outreach.
“These vehicles will do more than transport patients. They will allow us to reach more communities through medical missions, blood donation drives, and school-based health programs. We are deeply grateful to PAGCOR and Chairman Tengco for this support,” Nery said.
In the past nine months, PAGCOR has distributed a total of 153 PTVs nationwide to LGUs, government agencies, and institutions—including 70 units recently turned over to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office—further underscoring its commitment to community healthcare development.
