Bulacan is set to become a powerhouse of progress with the launch of three transformative infrastructure projects at Bulacan State University (BulSU) — a modern hospital, a world-class sports complex, and a convention center that promises to become the heart of community events.

On May 6, PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco joined BulSU President Dr. Teody San Andres, Bulacan 1st District Representative Danny Domingo, and other local leaders to break ground on these ambitious developments in Barangay Guinhawa, City of Malolos.

A crowd of attendees in white shirts gathered at a groundbreaking event for the construction of a hospital, sports complex, and convention center at Bulacan State University, with a stage set up for speakers.

Leading the charge is constructing a five-story, Level 2 hospital — designed to address the pressing need for accessible and advanced healthcare in the province. The hospital aims to be both a medical and architectural landmark, featuring state-of-the-art radiology, ICUs, operating and delivery rooms, and even a 1,320-square-meter therapeutic garden.

“This is more than just a building — it’s a bold step toward making BulSU a premier institution for both education and healthcare in the country,” Chairman Tengco declared. “This hospital will be the university’s crowning glory, and we are proud to witness the beginning of something truly historic.”

Dr. San Andres echoed the excitement, calling the groundbreaking a turning point in the university’s mission to champion education, public health, and community empowerment.

“This is a dream come true — not just for BulSU, but for every Bulakeño,” he said. “We are building a future where learning, healing, and community are all connected.”

Beyond healthcare, the new sports complex and convention center will serve as key pillars for student development and civic engagement. These facilities will energize the campus and the wider Bulacan community, from athletic competitions to academic symposiums and public events.

With these projects underway, Bulacan is not just investing in structures — it’s laying the foundation for a brighter, more resilient future.
