The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation has expanded its healthcare support program by turning over patient transport vehicles to five local government units and a national health institution, strengthening emergency response and frontline medical services in several communities.

The beneficiaries of the latest donation include the City of Imus in Cavite, the Province of Bataan, the Municipality of Libertad in Antique, and the municipalities of Ibaan and San Jose in Batangas, alongside the Lung Center of the Philippines.

The vehicles are intended to improve patient mobility, particularly in time-sensitive medical situations where access to transport can mean the difference between life and death.

PAGCOR Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro H. Tengco said the initiative underscores the agency’s commitment to social responsibility by directly addressing gaps in local healthcare delivery, especially in resource-strained areas. He described the vehicles as critical support tools that can serve as lifelines during emergencies while helping communities become more resilient.

Officials from the Lung Center of the Philippines welcomed the donation, noting that transport limitations have long been a challenge in daily operations. Chief Medical Social Worker Donnabelle Gonzaga-Arcillo said the new vehicle will significantly help in ferrying patients, conducting home visitations, and supporting community-based health activities, easing both logistical and operational burdens on the institution.

Each patient transport vehicle is fitted with essential medical and safety equipment, including a stretcher, oxygen tank, wheelchair, first aid kit, and navigation system, ensuring patients can be moved safely and efficiently.

The latest turnover builds on PAGCOR’s sustained healthcare support. In 2025 alone, the agency donated 162 patient transport vehicles to local governments, partner agencies, and institutions nationwide, including 70 units provided to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, reinforcing its role in strengthening the country’s public health response.
