Most parts of the country were expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies on Thursday, with chances of rain later in the day, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its morning forecast, Pagasa said warm easterly winds continued to affect Luzon and the Visayas, bringing generally hot and humid conditions.

These weather patterns were seen to influence Metro Manila and other areas, where fair weather was expected to prevail in the early part of the day.

However, conditions were likely to shift by the afternoon, with the possibility of thunderstorms and isolated rain showers developing.

The state weather bureau explained that skies would remain partly cloudy to cloudy from morning until midday before clouds build up later in the day.

Rain bearing clouds were expected to form in the afternoon and evening, increasing the likelihood of brief but potentially intense downpours.

Pagasa also said it was not monitoring any tropical cyclone or low pressure area within the Philippine area of responsibility over the next 24 hours.

Sea conditions across the country were expected to remain generally calm to moderate, with no gale warning raised during the period.
