The Northeast Monsoon and the easterlies are affecting several parts of the country, resulting in cloudy skies and rain showers, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the weather bureau reported that Caraga and the Davao Region were expected to experience cloudy conditions with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
Areas including Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte were forecast to have cloudy skies with rains brought by the Northeast Monsoon, locally known as “amihan.”
Pagasa said the monsoon was also influencing weather conditions in Metro Manila, the Visayas, and the rest of Luzon, where cloudy skies with isolated rains were anticipated.
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao was expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.
The state weather bureau noted that these weather systems continue to affect different regions depending on prevailing wind patterns.
Sunrise was recorded at 6:19 a.m., while sunset was expected at 6:01 p.m., based on Pagasa’s daily forecast.
