P90,000 bounty suspect falls in Zamboanga City murder arrest
A man with a Php 90,000 bounty on his head was finally cornered in Zamboanga City after police served a long-standing murder warrant in a coordinated operation on May 15, 2026.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the 45-year-old suspect was arrested by operatives from a local police station, backed by intelligence units from Police Regional Office 9.
Authorities said the arrest was carried out on the strength of a warrant issued by a Regional Trial Court in connection with a murder case, with no bail recommended.
The suspect had been on the police watchlist, with a reward offered for information leading to his capture, prompting intensified tracking efforts in recent weeks.
Police said the operation was executed smoothly, allowing officers to take the suspect into custody without resistance or incident.
He was subsequently brought to a police facility for documentation and the start of legal proceedings tied to the case.
Philippine National Police chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the arrest underscored ongoing efforts to hunt down wanted persons through coordinated field operations and intelligence work.
He added that authorities would continue pursuing fugitives while ensuring all operations followed due process and upheld legal standards, as part of broader efforts to sustain public trust and order.
