The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office marked the start of the year by warmly welcoming 312 Overseas Filipino Workers arriving from Kuwait through a special activity dubbed “Bagong Taong Salubong sa OFWs.”
Held as a gesture of gratitude and care, the program was organized to honor the sacrifices of Filipino migrant workers and to remind them that government support awaits them the moment they return home.
Beyond a simple reception, the initiative underscored the continued commitment of state agencies to ensure that OFWs feel valued, protected, and supported as they reunite with their families.

Leading the welcome were OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan and PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles, alongside PCSO Chairman Felix P. Reyes and members of the PCSO Board of Directors Jennifer E. Liongson-Guevara, Janet De Leon Mercado, and Imelda A. Papin.
As part of the program, PCSO distributed Charitimba in-kind assistance packages to all returning OFWs, offering immediate support as they transition back to life in the Philippines and reconnect with their loved ones.
In his message, Robles emphasized PCSO’s role as a constant partner to OFWs and their families, assuring them that support extends beyond their time abroad. He said PCSO remains committed to looking after the welfare of their families in the Philippines while they continue working overseas to build better futures.
OWWA officials echoed this message, reaffirming the agency’s pledge to sustain welfare programs, reintegration initiatives, and other support services designed to help OFWs and their families rebuild, recover, and move forward.
The Bagong Taong Salubong sa OFWs forms part of PCSO’s broader social responsibility efforts, carried out in close coordination with partner agencies, aimed at delivering timely assistance and compassion to Filipino workers whose contributions continue to strengthen the nation.
