No firecracker-related blaze in Antique during holidays

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Antique reported no fire incidents caused by firecrackers or fireworks during Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Senior Fire Officer 1 Jefferson Cordero, head of the Fire Safety Inspection Enforcement Section, credited their “Oplan Paalala Iwas Paputok” campaign, which began on December 1, for the success.

Local governments in seven towns banned firecracker sales, while others strictly regulated vendors to designated zones.

Provincial Fire Marshal Supt. Patricio Collado and regional officials conducted station visits to ensure readiness, highlighting the effectiveness of intensified safety inspections and community support. (PNA)
