AT least three firms expressed interest in joining Asia’s first professional league.

Commissioner Willie Marcial made the disclosure after the three potential teams contacted him personally. Two of which have already sent their respective Letters of Intent (LOI) and even visited the PBA office.

Marcial, though, wouldn’t reveal the names of the three firms that are initially planning to enter the league as expansion teams.

A few days ago, talks with Terrafirma’s possible replacement, Starhorse Shipping Lines, failed to materialize.

Starhorse, according to Marcial, failed to comply with several financial requirements needed to acquire an existing franchise.

Terrafirma and Starhorse talked about a buyout, but unfortunately, no deal was consummated as Starhorse couldn’t conform to certain financial provisions.
