New Albay police chief vows stronger operations, better welfare for cops

Newly installed Albay police chief Col. Noel Nuñez pledged to strengthen police operations while prioritizing the welfare and morale of his personnel.

Speaking at the command turnover ceremony held Monday at Camp General Simeon Ola, Nuñez promised a leadership anchored on integrity, decisiveness, and dedication.

“We will enhance our internal support programs, focusing on physical and mental wellness, as well as recognition and career development. Our goal is to foster an environment where every police officer feels valued, protected, and motivated to exceed expectations,” he said.

He also emphasized the importance of working with local government units and stakeholders to boost logistical capabilities, improve mobility, and ensure 24/7 operational readiness.

Nuñez added that he plans to establish regular hazard assessments, intelligence monitoring, and contingency planning for both man-made and natural threats.

A member of the Philippine National Police Academy Tanglaw-Lahi Class of 1999, Nuñez takes the helm with a commitment to both efficiency and care for his force.
