A netizen who received government-distributed rice has shared his positive experience, saying the rice was of good quality and tasted similar to a popular commercial brand despite circulating allegations questioning its quality.
In a Facebook post dated November 3, Lauro Fernandez Mejias responded to social media claims that the rice distributed under a government assistance program was allegedly fake and bounced like a jackstone.
Mejias disputed the claims based on his personal experience, describing the rice he received as flavorful and comparable to Ganador rice.
“Ito ang bigas na viral. Sabi nila, parang jackstone, tumalbog-talbog. Kaya pala sinisiraan nila. Ang sarap pala kainin, parang Ganador rice,” Mejias wrote.
He also urged those dissatisfied with the rice assistance to consider giving their allocation to families who need it more.
“Nasaan ang iyong ayuda na bigas na bigay ng gobyerno? Ibigay na lang ninyo sa mas nangangailangan. Huwag palaging paninira,” he added.
Mejias expressed gratitude for the assistance, saying the rice was enjoyable even without accompanying dishes.
“Siya nga pala, salamat sa Panginoon sa grasya na ibinigay kamakailan, gaya ng bigas na masarap kainin kahit walang ulam,” he said.
His remarks come amid online discussions about the quality of rice distributed through government assistance programs.
While Mejias described his experience positively, his account reflects his personal assessment and does not independently establish the quality of rice distributed to other beneficiaries.
The specific government rice assistance program involved was not identified in the post.
