According to a report by Deadline, Netflix and Sony are in advanced talks to produce a sequel to KPop Demon Hunters, with a planned release in 2029.
It remains unclear whether the sequel will premiere in theaters or exclusively on Netflix.
Since its June release, KPop Demon Hunters has become Netflix’s most popular film of all time, amassing over 236 million views. Its soundtrack also made history as the first to land four simultaneous Top 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, the animated hit follows K-pop idols Rumi, Mira, and Zoey — members of the group Huntrix — who secretly live double lives as demon hunters protecting their fans from supernatural threats.
The film, which includes hits like “Golden,” “Soda Pop,” “What It Sounds Like,” “Your Idol,” and “Takedown,” continues to capture global audiences with its blend of music, action, and heartfelt storytelling.
