The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has lowered its status to heightened alert after the Iglesia ni Cristo rally ended.
NCRPO spokesperson Maj. Hazel Asilo said the heightened alert status took effect at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 3.
The regional police office had earlier been placed on full alert after the INC-led protest began near the People Power Monument in Quezon City on Tuesday.
The unscheduled gathering caused traffic disruption along White Plains Avenue and Edsa during the morning rush hour.
The rally continued in Quezon City on Wednesday after organizers secured a permit from the local government.
The permit, however, was revoked for Thursday, prompting the group to move its activities to Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila.
Authorities said the protest ended after three days, with police reporting only minor incidents on the first day.
The INC staged the rally in support of Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, who faces a looming plunder case over an alleged Php 75 million donation he received when he was still a congressman before his 2025 Senate run.
