Police in the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija arrested a male suspect and confiscated illegal drugs and an unlicensed firearm on Saturday night.
Authorities responded to a report that the suspect was threatening a family member at gunpoint in Barangay Catalanacan around 8:14 p.m.
Officers arrived at the scene, where the suspect attempted to flee in a parked vehicle but was intercepted by law enforcement.
During a search, authorities recovered a 9mm pistol with a defaced serial number and a magazine containing five live rounds, but no valid license.
Investigators also found high-grade marijuana, marijuana leaves, cigarette sticks infused with marijuana, vape cartridges, and other marijuana derivatives.
The seized drugs have an estimated street value of PHP1,038,000, according to the police.
Additional items recovered included drug paraphernalia, a firearm holster, and a vehicle linked to the suspect.
The suspect is set to face charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, as well as violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Authorities emphasized the swift response prevented further threats to the family and ensured the suspect could not escape.
The police continue to investigate whether the suspect is connected to other illegal drug activities in the area.
