The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Tuesday several weather systems, including the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), will bring rains to parts of the country on Tuesday.
Pagasa reported that the LPA was last located about 740 kilometers south-southwest of Pag-asa Island in Kalayaan, Palawan, as of 3 a.m.
As the weather system continues to move farther away from the PAR, its trough is forecast to cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, and Palawan.
In its 5 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said the shear line will bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms to Bicol Region, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Samar.
The northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, is expected to produce light rains over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Aurora.
Pagasa added that Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience isolated light rains due to the amihan.
Meanwhile, the easterlies will trigger scattered rains and thunderstorms over the rest of the Visayas and isolated thunderstorms in the remaining parts of Mindanao, with no low-pressure area or tropical cyclone being monitored inside the PAR.
