Rail commuters may ride the MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2 for free during selected hours on Friday, June 12, in celebration of the country’s 128th Independence Day.
The free rides will be available at all stations of the three railway lines.
Passengers may avail of the free service from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
The second free-ride window will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
June 12 has been declared a regular holiday under Proclamation No. 1006 signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The free rides are expected to benefit commuters joining Independence Day activities and those traveling during the morning and evening rush periods.
For LRT-1, the first trains will leave both Dr. Santos and Fernando Poe Jr. stations at 5 a.m.
The last train will depart Dr. Santos station at 9:30 p.m., while the final trip from Fernando Poe Jr. station will be at 9:45 p.m.
