Movem Electric, Inc., the end-to-end electric mobility solutions arm of Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco), is reinforcing its commitment to helping drive the Philippines’ electric vehicle (EV) transition by advancing scalable, resilient, and future-ready charging infrastructure.
At the recently concluded Solar & Storage Live Philippines 2026 held on May 19 and 20, Movem President and Chief Executive Officer Ralph M. Menchavez joined energy leaders, technology providers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders in discussions focused on accelerating EV adoption, expanding charging accessibility, and strengthening the country’s pathway toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
The conference highlighted the growing need for stronger collaboration among government agencies, utility companies, private sector players, and technology innovators to address infrastructure challenges and create an ecosystem that supports wider EV adoption nationwide.
Menchavez underscored the critical role of reliable and accessible charging networks in strengthening consumer confidence and enabling long-term growth for electric mobility in the country.
He also emphasized the need for resilient and innovative charging solutions that can adapt to evolving transport demands and future mobility technologies.
“This infrastructure rollout must be complemented by strong public-private collaboration and targeted incentives to accelerate investment and improve utilization,” Menchavez said.
As the EV sector continues to gain momentum, Meralco and its subsidiary Movem reaffirmed their support for initiatives that promote sustainable transportation, improve grid readiness, and help build a stronger electric mobility ecosystem for the Philippines.
Through strategic partnerships and infrastructure development, Movem aims to contribute to a future where cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable mobility solutions become increasingly accessible to Filipino consumers.
