MANILA – More of the country’s top developers are set to join President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s flagship Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program this week, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said on Sunday.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said top officials of two renowned developers are set to sign separate agreements with Home Development Mutulal (Pag-IBIG) Fund within the week to formalize their participation in the sustained nationwide rollout of the Expanded 4PH.
So far, five of the country’s top developers have officially signed memorandums of understanding (MOU) with Pag-IBIG Fund in support of the flagship housing program — Megawide Construction Corp., Ayala Land Inc.’s Amaia and Avida, SM Development Corporation, Filinvest Land Inc., and Robinsons Land Corporation.
“This is a gamechanger as far as government housing program is concerned. Private sector confidence continues to grow, especially coming from some of the country’s top and respected developers,” Aliling said, as quoted in a news release.
“We take this growing confidence from the private sector as a positive vote for the sustainability of the Expanded 4PH Program. Malaking bagay ang tiwala ng pribadong sektor sa gobyerno upang magtagumpay ang ating mga programa (The private sector’s trust in the government is crucial to the success of our programs).”
At the same time, the DHSUD chief said the entry of reputable developers into Expanded 4PH through the Pag-IBIG Fund provides better-quality housing and wider financing options for homebuyer-beneficiaries.
Under the MOUs, participating developers will offer preferential rates and other incentives for housing units in select projects to qualified Pag-IBIG Fund members under the Expanded 4PH.
Through these agreements, Pag-IBIG Fund continues to make its housing financing available to more members seeking affordable homeownership opportunities, while developers contribute additional housing inventory, under the government’s flagship housing program.
“Alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., mas paiigtingin pa ng DHSUD kasama ang aming mga key shelter agencies ang pagpapalawak ng programang pabahay ng ating pamahalaan (In accordance with President Marcos Jr.’s directive, the DHSUD, together with our key shelter agencies, will further intensify the expansion of the government’s housing program),” Aliling said.
“Mas maraming proyekto, mas maraming pagpipilian at options para sa ating mga kababayan (More projects, more choices and options for our fellow citizens).” (PR)
