More than Pride Month: McDonald’s Philippines builds a workplace where everyone belongs

At McDonald’s Philippines, inclusion is more than a campaign celebrated once a year—it is a commitment embedded in the company’s culture. Through its “Love Ko All, Celebrate All” initiative, the quick-service restaurant giant continues to champion diversity, equality, and belonging by creating a workplace where employees and customers alike can confidently show up as their best selves.

While Pride Month provided an opportunity to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, McDonald’s Philippines emphasized that its advocacy extends well beyond June, shaping the way it hires, develops, and supports more than 75,000 employees across the country.

“For us, ‘Love Ko All, Celebrate All’ is not just a Pride Month message, but a culture we live and strengthen every day,” said Ben Marasigan, Vice President for Human Capital Group of McDonald’s Philippines. “We provide equal opportunities for all, and we make it a priority to ensure every employee feels empowered to be their ‘best me,’ regardless of gender, background, or personal identity.”

Standing Proud with Communities Nationwide
Demonstrating its commitment to inclusivity, McDonald’s Philippines joined several of the country’s largest Pride celebrations, with head office and restaurant employees marching alongside thousands of Filipinos during the Love Lab4n Pride Festival in Quezon City and the Mandaue City Pride March. The company also supported the Metro Manila Pride March, the Cebu Grand Pride Parade, and the Kahilwayan Pride Run in Cagayan de Oro City.

The celebrations also carried a meaningful purpose. For every McDonald’s employee who joined the marches, the company pledged donations to a partner organization advocating for safe and inclusive spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Beyond the festivities, McDonald’s strengthened its commitment to inclusive employment by participating in the Philippine Financial and Inter-Industry Pride Karir Career Fair, where it connected with more than 450 prospective applicants interested in joining the company.

Meanwhile, rainbow-themed “Love Ko All” arches welcomed customers at McDonald’s Ligaya Quezon Avenue in Quezon City and McDonald’s North Reclamation Area in Cebu City, serving as colorful reminders that every McDonald’s restaurant is a place where everyone is welcome.

Inclusion Starts in the Workplace
For over four decades, McDonald’s Philippines has made people development a cornerstone of its business.

Since Chairman and Founder Dr. George T. Yang opened the company’s first restaurant in 1981, McDonald’s Philippines has directly hired its managers and service crew members, providing stable employment without contractualization.

Today, the company supports more than 45,000 working students nationwide by offering flexible work arrangements that allow them to earn while pursuing their education.

Its inclusive hiring initiatives also extend to persons with disabilities and senior citizens through partnerships with local government units, helping expand access to meaningful employment across diverse communities.

Employee development remains another key priority. Through world-class learning and development programs, McDonald’s Philippines delivers approximately 2.8 million training hours across all levels of the organization, equipping employees with the skills they need to build long-term careers and grow within the company.

A Culture That Celebrates Everyone
As it continues to expand nationwide, McDonald’s Philippines remains committed to fostering a workplace where diversity is valued, individuality is celebrated, and everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.

Individuals from all walks of life are encouraged to explore career opportunities with McDonald’s Philippines and become part of an organization that believes everyone deserves the chance to grow, thrive, and be their best self. Learn more through the McDonald’s Philippines Careers Facebook page.
