Passenger volume at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) exceeded 100,000 on Sunday, Dec. 21, as the Christmas travel rush gained momentum.

PITX data showed that 106,293 passengers had passed through the terminal as of 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The count covered both outbound travelers leaving Metro Manila and inbound passengers arriving at the terminal.

PITX Corporate and Government Relations head Jason Salvador shared the figures through a Viber message.

Terminal officials said many of the passengers were traveling to provinces in the Bicol region.

PITX noted that nearly half of Sunday’s trips bound for Bicol were already fully booked.

Passenger traffic has been climbing steadily since the start of the holiday break, the terminal said.

Records showed that 186,231 passengers used PITX on Friday, Dec. 19.

The number rose further on Saturday, Dec. 20, when 200,153 passengers were logged.

PITX earlier said it expects more than three million travelers from Dec. 19, 2025 to Jan. 5, 2026 during the Christmas and New Year season.
