Several community cats have gone missing from DMCI Homes’ Satori Residences in Pasig City, sparking concern among residents and animal welfare groups.

The volunteer group Cats of Satori reported that a total of 13 cats — Lucy, Pia, Abner, Darcy, Albus, FC, Bella, Luna, Ginger, Pearl, Atlas, Hershey and Carrot — have disappeared as of June.

The group, which cares for the cats, expressed their alarm on social media. “We don’t know where they are. We don’t know why. But we know this: THEY MATTER,” they wrote.

Senator Grace Poe has weighed in on the case, calling for an investigation. She praised the efforts of the volunteer group, which cared for the cats that had found a haven in their area, and pointed out that they not only fed the cats but also spayed and neutered them, contributing to their overall health and helping control the animal population.

“The plea of condominium owners in Pasig City about their missing cats should not fall on deaf ears,” Poe said.

They called for an immediate review of CCTV footage from the building to uncover the truth, as they suspect foul play. “These cats are not pests. They are sentient beings who have quietly lived among us,” the group added.

Residents have been searching for the cats in local pounds, but none have been found. The group has also raised concerns about the lack of communication from the condo’s property management office.

Despite the disappearances, the property management has denied involvement. They have not yet issued a public statement or provided an explanation for the missing cats.

Senator Poe has urged barangay officials to help locate the missing cats and identify those responsible. She emphasized that the public should work together to ensure animal welfare in urban communities.

The search for the missing cats continues as the community calls for transparency and justice.
