Controversy continues to swirl around the Miss Universe 2025 pageant after a public confrontation between Miss Universe Mexico 2025 Fatima Bosch and Miss Universe Thailand national director Nawat Itsaragrisil erupted during a pre-event gathering in Bangkok.
In a widely shared video, Nawat—who also serves as Miss Universe Organization (MUO) Vice President for Asia and Oceania—was seen reprimanding Bosch for skipping a local sponsor shoot, accusing her of disrespecting the host country and event partners. The Mexican delegate, however, reportedly explained that she had prior commitments with Telemundo, the official broadcaster of Miss Universe, and that her absence was cleared with organizers.
Eyewitnesses claim Nawat’s tone became increasingly confrontational, prompting Bosch to stand up for herself. She then exited the ballroom, followed by several fellow contestants who appeared to support her. The scene quickly went viral, sparking heated debate among pageant fans and industry insiders.
The Miss Universe Mexico Organization later released a statement calling Nawat’s actions “unacceptable,” defending Bosch’s professionalism and condemning what it described as “public humiliation of a delegate in front of her peers.” The statement added that the organization was in communication with MUO to ensure “respectful treatment of all candidates regardless of nationality.”
As of press time, Miss Universe Mexico has not withdrawn Bosch from the competition, though insiders revealed that discussions are ongoing regarding her continued participation. Bosch, meanwhile, has remained poised online, posting a brief message thanking her supporters and emphasizing that she remains focused on representing Mexico with dignity and grace.
The Miss Universe Organization has yet to issue an official statement on the incident. The coronation night is set for November 21 in Thailand, and fans are now watching closely to see whether this controversy will cast a shadow over the world’s most prestigious beauty pageant.
