Gabrielle Henry, representing Jamaica at the Miss Universe 2025, remains hospitalized after a dramatic fall during the preliminary evening-gown round in Thailand on November 19.
The 28-year-old ophthalmologist slipped in high heels while walking in a sparkly orange gown and tumbled off the stage, later being stretchered to Paolo Rangsit Hospital in Bangkok.
Though organizers confirmed she sustained no broken bones or life-threatening injuries, her sister, Phylicia Henry‑Samuels, said Gabrielle “isn’t doing as well as we would have hoped,” and doctors decided she must remain in the ICU for at least seven days for close monitoring.
Her team asked the public and Jamaican diaspora to keep her in their thoughts, and urged that negative comments or unverified speculation be avoided while the family focuses on her recovery.
The fall has cast a shadow over the event, which is also facing other controversies, but all eyes remain on Gabrielle’s health and return to full wellness.
