Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather agree to 2026 exhibition fight

Boxing legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather have agreed to face each other in a blockbuster exhibition match set for spring 2026, promoter CSI Sports announced Thursday. No exact date or venue has been revealed.

Tyson, 59, is regarded as one of the most feared heavyweights of his generation, holding a career record of 50 wins (44 knockouts) and 7 losses. He last fought in November 2024, suffering a lopsided defeat to YouTuber-turned-prizefighter Jake Paul in Arlington, Texas. Despite landing few punches, the eight-round bout drew around 70,000 live spectators and millions of viewers worldwide.

Mayweather, 48, retired unbeaten in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record and titles across five weight divisions. Since retiring, he has participated in several exhibition matches, most recently defeating John Gotti III in Mexico in August 2024.

“When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather I thought, ‘No way this happens,’” Tyson said in a statement. “But Floyd said yes. This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets.”

This highly anticipated clash is expected to generate massive global attention, bringing together two of boxing’s biggest names for a historic showdown.
