Metro Pacific Health Corporation (MPH), the Philippines’ largest private hospital network, announced its acquisition of a majority stake in Metro Antipolo Hospital and Medical Center, Inc. (MAHMC). This marks MPH’s 28th hospital investment and further strengthens its rapidly growing nationwide healthcare chain.
Founded in 2010 by a pioneering group of 59 physicians and professionals, MAHMC was envisioned as both a modern healthcare facility and a training ground for specialized physicians. Since its opening in 2016, the 109-bed Level 2 hospital along Marcos Highway has become one of Rizal province’s leading medical institutions. While primarily serving Lower Antipolo, its strategic location enables it to also cater to patients from Marikina, Pasig, Cainta, San Mateo, Binangonan, and Taytay.
Outgoing MAHMC President Dr. Nelson Bambalan expressed confidence in the transition, saying, “We are confident that MAHMC, under the leadership and management of MPH, is poised to achieve even greater things beyond medical expertise.”

For MPH, this acquisition underscores its commitment to expand access to high-quality healthcare beyond Metro Manila. “With MAHMC becoming our 17th provincial hospital, we are reaffirming our commitment to enhancing access to high-quality healthcare services to communities outside the capital,” said MPH President Augie Palisoc Jr.
As part of its transformation plan for MAHMC, MPH will open a new Urgent Care Center, expanding outpatient services and elevating patient experiences to standards seen in its flagship Metro Manila hospitals. Plans also include upgrading medical equipment and establishing the province’s first private cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Since its first investment in Makati Medical Center in 2007, MPH has steadily built a nationwide portfolio of premier healthcare institutions, including Asian Hospital and Medical Center, Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Davao Doctors Hospital, and Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod. Its latest investment in MAHMC reaffirms MPH’s mission to deliver world-class yet affordable healthcare across the Philippines.
