Metro Pacific Health and Medicard expand partnership to boost hospital access

In a powerful move to make quality healthcare more accessible across the country, Metro Pacific Health (MPH) and Medicard, an AIA company, have deepened their strategic alliance by expanding the Preferred Status Program to include more hospitals under MPH’s network.

This next phase of their collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed on July 11, 2025, at the Metro Pacific Health Head Office in Pasig City. The agreement brings more MPH hospitals into Medicard’s circle of preferred healthcare providers—streamlining services and aligning operations to deliver a smoother, more patient-centered experience.

This new batch of hospitals officially joining the Preferred Status Program includes:

Medicard was represented by President and CEO Julian Mengual, Dr. Catherine Jimenez (Director for Medical Services), Emerson Conducto (Head of Provider Management), and Rhea Negrete (Provider Management Officer).

The agreement builds on the foundation laid in 2024, which initially welcomed five MPH hospitals into the program:

  • Asian Hospital and Medical Center (AHMC)
  • Commonwealth Hospital and Medical Center (CHMC)
  • Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital (OLLH)
  • Riverside Medical Center Inc. (RMCI)
  • Marikina Valley Medical Center (MVMC)

With this latest expansion, the MPH-Medicard partnership is taking bold steps to further standardize quality of care, reduce patient wait times, and improve the overall hospital experience for thousands of Filipinos. The two healthcare leaders are also working closely on introducing enhanced programs and future initiatives designed to empower communities with better access to preventive care and medical services.

This growing collaboration marks a milestone in reshaping the Philippine healthcare landscape—making it not just more efficient, but truly patient-first.
