The One Meralco Foundation (OMF), the social development arm of the Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has extended vital support to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) by donating computer sets to its reservists and pension offices.
In partnership with Meralco Networks and the Information Communication Technology and Transformation (ICTT) offices, OMF formally turned over the equipment to the AFP Pension and Gratuity Management Center and the AFP Reserve Command.
Commodore Luidegar Casis, Chief of the AFP Pension and Gratuity Management Center, welcomed the donation, saying it would greatly improve their capacity to serve thousands of AFP retirees.
“These desktop units will help enhance our productivity and improve the delivery of services to our pensioners and their beneficiaries,” Casis said.

Col. Jose Tadeo Javier II, Deputy Commander of the AFP Reserve Command, also expressed gratitude, highlighting how ICT resources are essential in strengthening operations and communication.
“Without a doubt, these donations will serve as an outstanding example of what public and private partnership can achieve. Security, development, and progress are shared responsibilities,” Javier said.
Meralco executives emphasized that the initiative goes beyond corporate support, reflecting the company’s deep appreciation for the country’s defenders.
“This donation is our way of thanking our military reservists and veterans who show selfless dedication to serve the nation,” said OMF President Jeffrey Tarayao. “We are very proud to stand by them as they continue to protect the Filipino people.”
