More than 102,000 residents across 87 barangays in the Bicol region have been affected by ongoing activity from Mayon Volcano, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).
The volcano remains under Alert Level 3, with officials reporting continued seismic activity, rockfalls, and pyroclastic density current signals in recent monitoring data.
OCD deputy spokesperson Diego Mariano said 5,440 individuals were staying in evacuation centers, while a smaller number were receiving assistance outside evacuation sites.
He said local governments and national agencies continued to provide food, water, and essential services to affected families in coordination with disaster response teams.
Relief operations included the deployment of water trucks, installation of filtration systems, distribution of masks and basic supplies, and clearing of ash-covered roads to keep routes passable.
Authorities said these measures were ongoing to maintain access and support communities affected by ashfall and other volcanic hazards.
Law enforcement units were also deployed in parts of Albay to assist with traffic management and road clearing due to reduced visibility from ash deposits.
Officials continued to remind residents to avoid the six-kilometer permanent danger zone, which remains restricted due to heightened volcanic risk.
