Max’s Restaurant welcomes young athletes with heartfelt opening in Laoag

A group of young athletes from the National Capital Region (NCR) poses for a photo in front of the newly opened Max's Restaurant in Laoag, showcasing team spirit and camaraderie.

As the Palarong Pambansa 2025 brought youthful energy and regional pride to Ilocos Norte, Max’s Restaurant marked the opening of its newest branch in Laoag with a gesture that went beyond tradition—offering a warm meal to the athletes of the National Capital Region (NCR).

Instead of the usual ribbon-cutting spectacle, Max’s Laoag opted for a quiet but meaningful celebration. The new branch welcomed student-athletes with its beloved Filipino dishes, classic family recipes, and signature hospitality. For many of these young competitors, it was their first time in Laoag, and the comforting meal offered not just sustenance, but a sense of home and appreciation.

“We didn’t just open in Laoag to expand,” said Josephine Sta. Ana, operations head of Max’s Restaurant. “We opened to give back. As we approach our 80th year, we wanted this store to be a tribute—not just to the athletes of today, but to the community that has always inspired us. Max’s has always been about family, warmth, and heartfelt moments.”

Plates full and hearts fuller. NCR Palarong Pambansa volleyball athletes and their coaches enjoy a comforting meal at Max’s Laoag. A simple yet meaningful gesture that honors not just their achievements, but the spirit of community Max’s has cherished for 80 years.

One of the young guests, 15-year-old volleyball player John Howard Guerra, shared how the experience left a lasting impression. “This was my first time in Laoag. The kindness of the locals and the welcome from Max’s made it feel like I was with family. The food, the people—it’s something I’ll never forget.”

This celebration in Laoag is the latest in a series of community-centered openings for Max’s. In Marikina, the brand honored longtime partners. In Novaliches, loyal customers were surprised with birthday celebrations. In Imus, the spotlight was turned on the stories of its team members. Now in Laoag, Max’s chose to celebrate the spirit of Filipino youth and sportsmanship.

As Max’s approaches its 80th anniversary, it continues to show that expansion is not merely about opening more locations—it’s about opening doors to connection and care. For Max’s, growth is defined not by how many restaurants it builds, but by how many lives it touches.

With each new branch, Max’s affirms its legacy: not just a place to eat, but a place to belong.
