Tyrese Maxey scored 39 points and Andre Drummond added 14 points and 18 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers came from behind to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 110-108 on Monday.
Quentin Grimes contributed 19 points while VJ Edgecombe added 14. Paul George, making his season debut after recovering from a knee injury, scored nine points on 2-of-9 shooting in 21 minutes.
James Harden led the Clippers with 28 points but struggled late, missing two contested 3-pointers in the final seconds. Ivica Zubac had 14 points and 13 rebounds, and rookie Kobe Sanders posted a career-high 17 points in his first start.
Philadelphia overcame an early deficit, trailing by 10 entering the fourth quarter. Maxey’s 3-pointer and three-point play, combined with Grimes’ and Drummond’s baskets, put the Sixers ahead for the first time since 5-4. The Clippers’ late foul challenge was overturned, sealing Philadelphia’s comeback win.
