Marikina begins work on Concepcion Dos super health center

The city government of Marikina announced on Friday that it has initiated works to complete the Concepcion Dos Super Health Center, fulfilling Mayor Maan Teodoro’s commitment to finish the project.

In a statement, Teodoro instructed architect Raymond Aquino of the City Architectural Office to mobilize personnel from the City Engineering Department for Phase 2. Heavy equipment, including a backhoe and three dump trucks, has been deployed for a two-day clearing operation to trim grass, remove debris, and fix board-ups.

Proper construction of the health center is set to begin by Monday. The facility will be a four-story, multispecialty building offering basic medical services and housing an autism center for children with special needs.

Teodoro stated that the construction is now under local government supervision, replacing the previous third-party contractor. “Ibig sabihin po, by admin na ang construction — equipment, materials, workers, provided na lahat ng city government (This means that the construction is now under the administration — equipment, materials, workers, all provided by the city government,),” the mayor said.

In a letter to Department of Health Secretary Herbosa dated October 9, 2025, the city government confirmed it would proceed with the project using locally-sourced funds.
