MANILA — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is set to meet Polish President Karol Nawrocki during his upcoming visit to the Philippines, with talks expected to cover defense, trade, agriculture, technology and other areas of cooperation.
The Presidential Communications Office said Friday that the two leaders will also exchange views on regional and international developments.
Among the priority areas for discussion are defense and security, trade and investment, agriculture, science and technology, information and communications technology, legal cooperation, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
The visit will mark the first by a Polish head of state to the Philippines, representing a milestone in Manila-Warsaw relations.
The Polish presidency’s official website lists Nawrocki’s visit to the Philippines from October 6 to 8, accompanied by First Lady Marta Nawrocka.
The visit comes amid growing bilateral engagement, including recent defense and political consultations between the two countries.
The Philippines and Poland established diplomatic relations on September 22, 1973.
Poland was the Philippines’ 28th-largest trading partner in 2025 and is home to an estimated 25,000 Filipinos, according to the PCO.
Poland also recently acceded to the ASEAN Treaty of Amity and Cooperation as the Philippines continues its chairship of ASEAN in 2026.
