
MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education and improving the welfare of teachers, highlighting the education sector’s record-high budget allocation for 2026.
Speaking during the National Teachers’ Day celebration on October 5, Marcos emphasized that education remains a central priority of his administration, with increased government funding intended to strengthen the country’s education system.
“Ang edukasyon ay nananatiling prayoridad nitong Administrasyon. Sa katunayan, sa buong kasaysayan ng bansa, ngayong taon nakatanggap ng pinakamalaking budget ang sektor ng edukasyon,” Marcos said.
The President also pledged to continue supporting teachers through programs and policies aimed at protecting their rights, improving their welfare and advancing their professional development.
“Patuloy rin nating gagampanan ang tungkulin, pangangalagaan ang mga karapatan, kapakanan, at patuloy na pag-unlad ng ating mga guro,” he added.
Marcos recognized the vital role of educators in shaping the country’s future, underscoring the need to provide them with adequate resources, institutional support and opportunities for career advancement.
The administration has been pursuing education reforms, including measures to improve teachers’ career progression, reduce administrative workloads and strengthen benefits for public school educators.
The President’s remarks formed part of the National Teachers’ Day celebration, which recognized the dedication and contributions of Filipino teachers to nation-building.
