
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. approved the promotion of five senior Philippine National Police officials to higher ranks, according to a Department of the Interior and Local Government memorandum.
The July 16 document said the officers’ appointment papers had been signed by Marcos and forwarded to the DILG by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.
PNP Academy director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan was promoted to the two-star rank of police major general.
Directorate for Comptrollership chief Brig. Gen. Dindo Reyes also received the rank of police major general.
The Directorate for Comptrollership oversees the management of the police organization’s financial resources.
PNP Forensic Group director Col. Pierre Paul Carpio was elevated to the one-star rank of police brigadier general.
Police Regional Office Bicol Region deputy director for administration Col. Ronaldo Fulo and Police Regional Office Northern Mindanao deputy director for administration Col. Aaron Mandia were likewise promoted to police brigadier general.
Special Police Assistant to the Interior Secretary Col. Christopher Olazo issued the memorandum to PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez.
