President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday visited an 11-hectare housing township in Barangay Atate, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija developed under the government’s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino program.
The project, part of the 4PH initiative, was presented to the President during his inspection of the site and its facilities.
Palayan City Mayor Vianne Nicole Cuevas said around 2,000 housing units had already been allotted to beneficiaries through the Pag-IBIG Fund.
She added that about 200 residents had already moved into their new homes.
The development features 11,000 housing units and is designed as a self-contained community with an elementary school, livelihood center, government offices, central park, sports facilities, a mini market, and aquaponics gardens.
Marcos was joined by Cuevas, Nueva Ecija 3rd District Rep. Jay Vergara, and other local officials during the visit.
The President also met ambulant vendors selling agricultural produce, including participants in the Kadiwa ng Pangulo program at Farmers Plaza.
During the visit, Marcos oversaw the distribution of 100 sacks of rice, each weighing 10 kilograms, to selected vendors.
