Marcos gets majority trust, approval ratings in April survey – OCTA

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. continues to enjoy majority trust and approval from Filipinos despite a slight dip in ratings, according to the latest Tugon ng Masa survey released Tuesday by OCTA Research.

The nationwide survey, conducted from April 2 to 5, revealed that 60% of respondents trust the President, while 59% approve of his performance—down five and four percentage points, respectively, from November 2024.

“Despite declining ratings, most adult Filipinos continue to express trust and approval for President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.,” OCTA stated.

The dip was largely attributed to lower ratings in Mindanao, a known stronghold of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Support remained high in the President’s bailiwicks in Northern Luzon, with trust ratings at 92% in the Ilocos Region, 87% in the Cordillera Administrative Region, and 83% in Cagayan Valley.

By socioeconomic class, Marcos scored highest among the poorest Filipinos, with 66% of Class E respondents expressing trust.

Marcos also outperformed other top officials—including Senate President Francis Escudero, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo—in both trust and approval.

With 1,200 adult respondents, the survey carries a ±3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level, indicating sustained public confidence in Marcos’ leadership midway through his term.
