Marcos assures work and mission to go on after mid-term polls

Following the release of partial unofficial results from the 2025 midterm elections, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. acknowledged the loss of several Senate candidates he endorsed under the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas on Tuesday.

Data from 97.2% of election returns showed that only five Alyansa senatorial bets secured spots in the top 12. The remaining winners included five candidates backed by Partido Demokratiko Pilipinas, one from the Liberal Party, and one independent.

Marcos Jr. expressed gratitude to those who supported the Alyansa slate.

“We may not have won every seat, but our work and mission continue.”

He commended those who lost and said that their courage to run “is deeply respected,” and despite the loss, public service does not end with elections.

“The work of nation-building needs all who are ready to serve,” he said.

The President called and urged the newly-proclaimed leaders to work with the administration regardless of their party or coalition to attain an “honest government.”

“Governance is a shared responsibility, a mission that requires unity and burden sharing for the common good. I extend my hand to the newly elected, regardless of party or coalition. Let us move forward together—with open minds and a common purpose,” he said.

“Sa gobyernong tapat, kasama ang lahat,” the President added.

He also expressed his gratitude towards the Filipino people who took part as voters during the midterm election.

“Maraming salamat sa bawat Pilipinong bumoto. Once again, our democracy has renewed itself—peacefully, orderly and with dignity. It is both a celebration of continuity and a call to act on our people’s fundamental challenges,” Marcos Jr. said.

“Filipinos elected leaders who will listen and act—on inflation, on jobs, on corruption and on the everyday burdens they carry. These are issues we must face head-on,” he added.
