Two stars from different worlds crossed paths this week: boxing legend Manny Pacquiao and Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney.
The unexpected meeting happened during Pacquiao’s induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame on June 9 in Canastota, New York. Pacquiao, the only boxer in history to win world titles in eight weight divisions, was honored for his remarkable career and lifetime of dedication.

Sweeney, known for her roles in Euphoria and The White Lotus, was among the VIPs at the event. She even posed for fun photos with Pacquiao, including one where she playfully raised a fist as if squaring off with the boxing champ while he smiled and pointed to his Hall of Fame plaque.
Jinkee Pacquiao, Manny’s wife, was also present, and she shared her pride on Instagram.
“I never imagined this moment, but by God’s grace, here we are,” she wrote. “This is not just about boxing; it’s about faith, family, sacrifice, and purpose.”
The moment quickly spread online, with fans celebrating Manny’s achievement and the heartwarming crossover between the sports and entertainment worlds.
Pacquiao thanked the Filipino people in his speech and dedicated his success to them.
“This is our victory. This is our story, and the best is yet to come,” he said.
Pacquiao is stepping back into the ring for a comeback fight against WBC welterweight champion Mario “El Azteca” Barrios on July 19 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
