Man stabbed in face after interrupting midnight drinking session

A 23-year-old man sustained a stab wound to the face after stopping a group engaged in a drinking session at midnight on Sunday.

The victim recounted he and his companion planned to buy food when their motorcycle had broken down, prompting them to stop near the group. During this time, the suspect made a joke, suggesting they should “just make the motorcycle explode,” which led to the altercation.

“Pasabugin na lang kaya natin ‘yang motor; ito lighter,” the suspect said.

“Taga roon po kami. Bibili lang sana kami ng pagkain sa Wawa,” according to the victim.

According to the investigation of the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station, the altercation was triggered after the suspect made a joke, and both the groups got into a heated argument that then turned into a physical altercation.

Paul Sabulao, chief of police of Rodriguez MPS, said.

The suspect claimed that the victim was likely seeking trouble, as they had stopped near the suspect’s location.

Tingin ko kursanada talaga nilang magpapansin samin,” the suspect said.

Meanwhile, the victim’s sister has declined any settlement and intends to take legal action against those responsible.

Lalaban kami. Itutuloy namin ang demanda,” she said.
